The Wall-to-Wall Mural & Culture Festival happens annually within Winnipeg, MB (2020 and 2021 were excluded due to COVID-19) where artists, mentors, musicians, and preformers inspire all. The Festival promotes inclusivity and empowerment for all and strives to create safe spaces to participate in the art community.
Deriving from the original brand, not only the wordmark, the photography style and colours incorporate that warm and inviting feeling the Festival promotes. The wordmark aims to be unexpected, with interesting and balanced negative space and eye movement.
All building photography was personally taken, and are of murals from previous years, providing a voice saying, "This is what you can create!".
All expressions are for the promotion of the Festival, through posters, bus shelters, subway ads, and social media. These are the main contact points for Wall-to-Wall and where they can gain the most interaction with other creatives.
Instead of having all images in full colour, this monochromatic colour palette provides equality in each piece, with a warm, rich feel.
The use of the striking Pomegranate Pantone colour is what catches the eye of the viewer, and the soft gradient of Cosmic Latte, Khaki, and Gun Metal soothe the eye and acts as a neutralizer for the whole advertisement.
Telka Extended is used only for the wordmark for the Festival so as to be easily recognized. With this brutalistic typeface, experimentation is easy and encouraged.
Nimbus Sans Extended compliments Telka Extended and is only for subheaders and dates. Both typefaces are extended to allow for an easier read if and when all caps are used, while creating a structured and sturdy base.
Nimbus Sans Regular is for any copy that does not fall under any heirarchy mentioned above (i.e., curator names and website links). With this typeface being a derivative of Nimbus Sans Extended, it too, is structured, sturdy, and clean to read.
